The bearing plate unit is usually made of sheet metal and consists of a plate that supports the outer ring on one side of the bearing. The plate has a number of threaded holes for fixing the gearbox base. When installing, use a fastening bolt to pull the bearing into the housing. The resulting pressing force ensures that the bearing outer ring cannot rotate and simultaneously transfers radial loads directly from the bearing to the bearing housing.

The high precision design of the bearing plate material and machining, combined with the proper fastening design, secures the bearing in the housing and prevents turbulence due to axial loads. The benefits are stronger, quieter, more efficient and longer life.

Bearing plates have more advantages in the factory. The bearing is pre-installed in the bearing plate when it is delivered, which means that only one part can be pressed into the shaft and tightened normally. During the assembly process, the plate is free to rotate on the bearing, but the orientation between the two plates can be fixed by the lock design, or the guide notch in the gearbox housing can be prevented from rotating. Some bearing plate units are designed to support two bearings at the same time, and they are simultaneously pressed into the engaged gearbox shaft. After the bearing plate is accurately mounted by the above method, the bearing plate can be blindly mounted from the outside of the housing, thereby realizing a simple automated process.
